Sharon Green Middleton has had the opportunity to represent the 6th District communities of: Ashburton, Coldspring Newtown, Cross Keys, Cylburn, East/West Arlington, Evergreen, Forrest Park, Garrison Hill, Garwyn Oaks, Hidden Circle, Langston Hughes, Levindale, New Columbus Drive, Park Heights, Roland Park, The Woodlands at Coldspring, Windsor Hills, Woodberry, etc.
Councilwoman Middleton serves on various committees that have enhanced community recognition and empowerment, such as: the Community Advisory Committee at Sinai Hospital and Honorary Board member of the Cylburn Arboretum.
Councilwoman Middleton has continued to demonstrate the proven ability to bring together communities by developing community identity and fostering community leadership. She works tirelessly to make the 6th District equipped for preparedness in the 21st Century. She was elected to serve her first term after her appointment in 2007. Councilwoman Middleton maintains a Community Leadership/Awards Breakfast Event and disseminates an informational bi-annual newsletter “Middleton’s Media.”
Councilwoman Middleton’s professional and community efforts have been highly recognized by organizations such as: the Garwyn Oaks Community Association, the Maryland Coalition of Women for Responsive Government, Inc., the Wayland Baptist Church Community Development Corporation, and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
She has an exemplary public service background and extensive experience in education and career development programs. She is also a member of The Coldspring and Woodlands at Coldspring Community Associations; Women’s Civic League, Inc.; Women Power, Inc.; Maryland Association of Counties ”Fellow”; National Association of Counties Labor and Employment Steering Committee; Member and Northeastern Regional Director of NABCO; and Morgan State University Alumni Association, Inc.
Councilwoman Middleton is a proud native of Baltimore, Maryland, and graduate of Morgan State University. She is a wife and devoted mother of one son, who is a graduate of Baltimore City College High School.
